Overview
This course provides an overview of the key members of the Design team, their roles and responsibilities, the main stages in the design process and how the project manager can manage them successfully to get the best designs from the budget and minimise problems with planning. One of the speakers is an experienced architect giving delegates the opportunity to ask all those questions they’ve always wanted to.
Target Audience
This course is suitable for Development and Regeneration staff within Registered Providers and others with responsibility for managing architects, engineers and other members of the design team.
Entry or Pre-course Requirements
This course is designed to follow on from Getting the best from: the Consultant Team. It is preferable, although not essential, that delegates should either have attended that course or have an equivalent level of knowledge of briefing and managing consultants.
It is helpful if delegates have a good understanding of professional project management tools and techniques, such as provided by Introductory Certificate in Project Management.
It is helpful if delegates are familiar with Part B of Standards and Quality in Development: a good practice guide (second edition, 2008) published by the National Housing Federation.
