Overview

This course provides an overview of the key stages, events and issues in developing affordable housing and regeneration schemes from site identification and scheme inception through to handover and project completion.

On completing the course, the learners will have a basic understanding of the process and the key risk areas.

This course is suitable for Development and Regeneration staff who are new to the discipline, staff from other teams within Registered Providers who are drafted into Development project teams, senior managers and Board members who wish to have a high-level understanding of the process and risks.

  4. Purchase and conveyancing
  5. Managing the design process
  6. The planning system
  7. Procurement
  8. Building contract issues
  9. Snagging, practical completion, handover and defects

Intensive interactive learning with exercises.

A comprehensive handout is provided with this course. While not essential, it is helpful to scan this before the course. Please come armed with a list of questions you have, jargon you have heard and terms used that you don’t understand so that we can make sure you go away feeling more prepared for your role.
